Hi Reza,
I found you on YouTub and Spotify 2-3 years ago when you were making all the interviews with people working as bespoke tailors, and I have thoroughly enjoyed watching them all, and then I watched from the start as videos about making a jacket staredt to appear on YouTube.
This is a tailoring school, the theory and everything for FREE! AMAZING AND THANK YOU FROM US ALL!
I am continually grateful for this content and what you are bringing to us all. I have been searching online for information like this for close to 15 years! And you have made this happen!
For various and complicated reasons, I quite simply do not have funding at this time (or a leave from my day job) in my life to attend a tailoring school anywhere, but that does not stop my passion and interest in learning.
I have been an avid sewist since my gradeschool years, and have always dreamed of becoming some sort of master tailor, and Reza, you have brought this opportunity to all of us everywhere! Thank you so very much for this. It means so much to me.
I plan to continue to watch and re-watch your videos until I can really master the lessons.
I have not yet gotten through all the videos, (I work very long hours in my day job is the reason) however I do have a question as well;, I am female (5'2"), and I am curious if there are specific alterations I would make to the free, downloadable patterns in order to fit the female frame? I am not overweight, so that would not be a challenge, but I know that women just are differently shaped. How would we alter for our bust and the curve of our hips? How do we shorten the back length if needed? If you cover that in the videos, and perhaps I have just not yet got to that part of the videos, just let me know. Or if that alteration information is not in your videos, perhaps you could address this question in a video?
Mostly I just wanted to send you a deep and heartfelt thanks for this content. It means so much to me and I am so grateful for what you are doing.
Thank you,
Cassandra
Cassie, you are welcome.
I appreciate you. There will be in-depth content on fittings and pattern alterations. As for now, the Pagoda Model is 90% close to how a ladies jacket is constructed. I do not recommend changing the patterns as you will be very confused and enter ineffective learning.
